Glenn Pilley is Assistant Headteacher for Student Support and Director of Thrive at GEMS Wellington School, Qatar. With experience spanning pastoral leadership, inclusion, safeguarding and special educational needs, he is passionate about ensuring every pupil is supported to achieve both personal and academic success./p>
Glenn believes that outstanding schools create environments where every pupil feels valued, understood and empowered to fulfil their potential. His approach focuses on removing barriers to learning, fostering a culture of belonging and ensuring that pupils receive the support, challenge and opportunities they need to thrive./p>
Throughout his career, Glenn has held leadership positions across a range of educational settings, including roles as Head of Year and SENCo within high-performing schools in the UK. Prior to joining WSQ, he served as SENCo at both Marshalls Park Academy and Isaac Newton Academy in East London, where he led significant improvements in outcomes for pupils with additional needs while contributing to exceptional whole-school academic performance./p>
Glenn holds a BA in English from the University of Leicester, a PGCE from Sheffield Hallam University, an MA in Education from the University of Manchester, the National Award for SEN Coordination (NaSENCo), a Level 7 qualification in Psychometric Testing and Exam Access Arrangements, and Level 3 Safeguarding certification through the NSPCC.
