Tom Williams

ECA Lead

My name is Tom Williams, and I am the ECA Lead as well as a Year 5 class teacher at GEMS Wellington School Qatar. Having graduated from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, my journey in education began at a multicultural primary school in my hometown, in Wales. Fuelled by this experience and my passion for travel, I embraced a career in international education, making Qatar my home since August 2019, and now embarking on my fifth year here at WSQ.

I was fortunate enough to be given many opportunities as a child, instilling in me the belief that extracurricular activities play a pivotal role in shaping a young person's development. These activities foster values such as teamwork, individual and group responsibility, physical strength and endurance, competition, diversity, and a profound sense of culture and community. They enable students to acquire new skills or refine existing ones. At WSQ, my aim is that we offer a wide variety of extracurricular activities, providing students with opportunities to connect with like-minded peers who share similar interests.

My personal time is spent playing football and golf, socialising with friends and family, and indulging my passion for travel as a means of discovering new places.
